Aim Above Instructors

Sandra Soldera

I have been teaching swimming to adults and children for the past decade. I am also the owner and founder of Aim Above Swim School. I am a firm believer in seeing real results; and when I see my students thrive, I know that I have successfully done my job as their personal swim coach. I now specialize in Adult Instruction and focus on teaching adults such as: doctors, lawyers, nurses, management and business professionals alike.
I love the challenge and the personal interaction and fulfillment I feel with my students and really focus on technique, comfort, safety and recovery skills while in the water. Stroke improvement , deep end comfort (treading water/eggbeater) and triathlete/endurance training are also my main area of expertise.
I taught over 1000+ beginners with zero experience who are now very comfortable in the water; in addition to training intermediate/advanced swimmers who are looking to perfect their swimming skills and complete their very first triathlon. I will take you to that next level. If you're looking to enhance your swimming skills and perfect your technique, my step-by-step systematic teaching approach will certainly help you!

I am currently finishing my undergraduate degree in Child and Family Psychology at Laurier University. I am fluent in English and Polish and have experience working with children who have both physical and developmental disabilities. I have worked more specifically with children who have autism, MS and special needs. I worked as a swim instructor and lifeguard and taught swimming lessons for 5 years and have worked with children of all ages and skill levels. I truly enjoy helping children overcome their fears, challenge themselves, and reach their swimming goals.
I have plenty of experience working 1-on-1 and with Aim Above Swim School, I am happy with our learning philosophy: safety first, endurance and fitness second. I use play based teaching techniques and I am a firm believer that private lessons are the route to go for optimal results. I swam competitively for 3 years in high school and this is my first year on swim team in University and I find joy in helping others learn and improve their strokes.
I have always loved teaching children in the water and I am excited for the opportunity to inspire others to feel the same! Your children will have fun, look forward to all of their lessons with me and most importantly see significant improvement with their swimming skills.

When not in the water, I am usually found in class at the University of Toronto teaching at the Royal Conservatory of Music. I am a grad student pursuing my Master of Arts in Theatre for Young Audiences. I obtained my Bachelors in Musical Theatre from York University.
I’ve always loved the water. From the early age of 3, I was able to swim on my own and my parents had a hard time getting me out of the pool ever since! I became a competitive swimmer at age 8 and continued to swim on various teams throughout high school, university and still swim for my own fitness regularly.
During my undergrad studies, I found an escape from the classroom and stage by teaching swim lessons for local community pools. Now I teach at Aim Above, and I love this swim school's philosophy of the 1-on-1 private lessons. Throughout my life, I have found fun, harmony and peace in the water.
I look forward to offering your child the same experience! I love what I do and I enjoy teaching children the most.
